Previously I was only allowing one entry per person. However, I'm changing this in the hopes that I may gain more literature entries. I'm possibly going to close down the literature side. For now, though, I'm changing the entry amount to 2 Entries per person- one entry for each category. So if you entered one for visual already, feel free to send a thumb for the literature side as well. I'd like to get at least a few entries for literature!

Please note me (or at least comment) with your entry; I can't add it if I don't know about it. Also, it needs to have been submitted on or after the 12th of November, for those who didn't bother reading through the entry.

Okay, so I've always wanted to hold a contest on dA. This is my first, so please forgive me if I make mistakes.

Theme: The theme idea was given to me by ~Azeen who suggested "Abstract". I've always loved things abstracted and the way they present themselves can be both interesting and beautiful.
To be fair to all users, I'm separating the overall contest into two categories;
-Visual: which includes things such as photography, traditional art, etc...
-Literature: things that are more text based such as poems, stories and even text designs.

Inspiration: You can find inspiration by searching the abstract category in the photography section, or perhaps you can take a look at my A is for Abstract news feature to gain ideas. Although, I would like entries for this contest to be submitted after the starting date.

Starting date: 12 November 2009- All entries must be submitted to deviantART either on or after this date.
Ending date: 13 December 2009

To enter, note me with the thumb code or URL of your entry. Only one entry per category (per person), please. Donaters can enter, too. Please make sure to mention which category your entry is for.
Entries must follow deviantART's rules and I would prefer not to have anything that requires a mature content filter.
Please make sure literature deviations are a reasonable length. Nothing too long.

Judging process
Rather than having judges, I thought I might take advantage of the deviant polls. Since each poll can only have a certain number of answers, I intend to have a voting hierarchy. Basically over a period of a week or two, I'd have a selection of entries and you would all vote on your favourite. Then I'd poll again with those results to see your overall favourite.
If I receive more entries than I'm expecting (I'm not expecting many), than I will hold voting by note where you would note me with the entry you favour.
